Burning Man )*(

)*( 2015 )*(

August 30th- September 7th

This was my second time attending Burning Man and YES we went to Burning Man pregnant. After consulting with our Doctor and promising him I wouldn't climb on anything, he gave us the OK. We decided not to tell anybody besides our Parents, just so we wouldn't have to listen to all the concerned and worried comments.

A lot you have asked me what Burning Man is:
It is a temporary metropolis in Black Rock City, Nevada. It's a city wherein almost everything that happens is entirely created by it's citizen, who are active participants in this amazing experience.

Last year's torrential rains were replaced by this year's cold temperatures and major dust storms. Also, there was an overwhelming infestation of non-bugs all over the place. It was unbelievable how many bugs there weren't.

Besides mummifying ourselves in our sleeping bags at night and having to hide in our tent due to an extreme dust storm one day, we had such a great time together. My belly was obviously big enough that other Burners noticed and Peanut was a little star :) We meet so many people who just wanted to congratulate us, give us blessings of any kind and even touch our little miracle that grows inside of me. One older Gentleman even placed a kiss on my belly haha It wasn't creepy though, just very sweet.

What fascinates me the most about Burning Man- besides the incredible pieces of Art- is the freedom and connections that forms. The ability to wear whatever you please, say whatever you feel and do whatever you want at any given time. Nobody judging you for who you are or aren't. Everyone let's their silly, childlike self come out to play and things that would be "unusual" in the outside world are just your day to day occurrences at BM. From this you end up connecting with people you probably never would have spoken to in the "real" world. Everyone just wants to seize the day and explore as much as they can- before everything vanishes again...

Love
Christine
